I am so thankful to all the people that give their time and share their resources with our small public library. Last week, I wanted to do something special for our board members. They are always looking for ways to help improve the library and are so helpful in so many ways.
I saw this picture in the December issue of Real Simple magazine and thought! That's it! I'm going to make that for my board!
Do you want to see how mine turned out?!?
I bought the birch bark at Amazon.com. First I tried just soaking it and then tying it around a jar. Don't do that!! It cracks and is difficult to work with. Boil a sheet for 20 minutes. Then you can bend it, cut it, whatever you need to do. Tie it into whatever shape you want. When it dries, it will stay in that shape.
I got the flowers at Albertsons. Three bunches for $12! Then I trimmed my neighbors pine tree, hehehe. What do you think?
